tieHearts

Terms of Use

Last updated 6 September 2026 · Applies to the tieHearts mobile app and tiehearts.com

tieHearts lets you lock a feeling for someone you already know. It stays anonymous unless you both feel the same way, or you choose to show yourself. These are the rules of using it. They are a binding agreement between you and us, and they are written to be read rather than skipped.

The short version. The detail below governs, but nothing in it contradicts this:

1. This agreement, and how you accept it

tieHearts is operated by TIE2INNOVATION PRIVATE LIMITED, a company incorporated in India (“we”, “us”, “tieHearts”). By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy, which is part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use tieHearts.

2. Who can use tieHearts

You must be 18 years of age or older. There is no version of this service for anyone younger, and there will not be one.

We ask for your date of birth at sign-up. The check runs on our server before any account is created, and a date under 18 is refused outright. The first date you give is the one that stands and cannot be edited later.

Giving a false date of birth is a breach of these Terms. If you do it, you have obtained access by misrepresentation. We may close the account permanently, delete its data, refuse to let you sign up again, and refund and reverse any purchase made on it. If you were under 18 when you did it, we will delete the account and its data whether or not you ask us to.

Anyone can report an account they believe belongs to a minor, including a parent or guardian about their own child, by writing to the Grievance Officer. We investigate every such report, we may suspend the account while we do, and we do not require you to prove it before we look.

You also need a working Indian mobile number that belongs to you. One number is one account. You may not use a number that is not yours, a temporary or virtual number obtained to evade a block or a ban, or somebody else’s number with or without their permission.

You must not use tieHearts if we have previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.

3. What tieHearts does

A sealed feeling cannot be edited. Once you send it, the feeling and its intensity are fixed — only the private label you keep for yourself can be changed. This is deliberate: a feeling you can quietly rewrite afterwards is not a feeling, it is a draft.

4. Your account and your number

Your phone number is your login. There is no password. Anyone with access to your number and its messages can sign in as you, so keep your phone and your SIM secure and tell us immediately if either is compromised.

You are responsible for everything done through your account. If you give your phone to somebody and they lock a feeling with it, that was you as far as these Terms are concerned.

If you stop using a number and it is later reassigned to somebody else by your operator, tell us and delete your account. A number you no longer control should not stay attached to your feelings.

5. Anonymity, and its limits

We never reveal who locked a feeling for someone. Not for money, not to the recipient, not to anyone. You can pay to ask. You can never pay to be told.

Anonymity from other users is not anonymity from us, and it is not immunity from the law.

We record who caused every feeling, every message and every invite. We will identify a user — to the police, to a court, or to another lawful authority — where we are legally required to, where there is a valid order, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent serious harm to a person.

If you use this service to harass, threaten or stalk somebody, the fact that they cannot see your name does not mean nobody can. We built the ledger precisely so that we would never have to answer a complaint with “we do not keep that”.

6. Entering somebody else’s number: what you are promising

This is the most important section in this document, because it is the one part of tieHearts that can reach a person who never signed up. Read it before you type a number.

When you lock a feeling for a number that is not yet a tieHearts account, we may send one text message to that number telling the person something is waiting. You caused that message. We are the messenger; the decision was yours.

Your warranties

Each time you enter another person’s phone number, you represent and warrant to us that all of the following are true. If any of them is not true, you must not proceed.

  1. 1
You already have the number, and you got it honestly. From knowing the person — a friend, a classmate, a colleague, an acquaintance. Not bought, not scraped, not guessed, not copied from a leaked list, a database, a directory or somebody else’s phone.
  2. 2
You are entitled to use it to contact them. Nothing — no request from them, no undertaking you have given, no order of any court or authority — prevents you from contacting this person.
  3. 3
They have not told you to leave them alone. If a person has asked you to stop contacting them, by any means, tieHearts is not a way around that. Using it as one is a serious breach of these Terms and may be an offence.
  4. 4
Your purpose is genuine. You are expressing a real feeling for a real person. You are not doing this to harass, frighten, embarrass, humiliate, prank, defame, pressure, punish or take revenge on anyone — whether the recipient or somebody who might see their phone.
  5. 5
The number belongs to an adult. To the best of your knowledge the person you are contacting is 18 or over.
  6. 6
You accept the consequences if this is untrue. Including that your account may be closed, that we may refuse you service permanently, and that we may disclose your identity to the police or a court.

You give these warranties yourself and on your own responsibility. We cannot verify how you obtained a number, and we do not pretend to. What we can do — and do — is make the promise explicit, record who made it, cap how far it can ever travel, and act when it turns out to have been false.

What we do on our side

These limits are ours, not yours, and they apply no matter what you do:

If you are on the receiving end

You are not a user and you owe us nothing. Reply STOP and we stop for good, or write to developertiehearts@gmail.com and we will suppress your number. If you believe you are being harassed, tell us: we investigate, and where there is a genuine safety concern or a lawful order we will disclose who was responsible. Your rights over the data we hold about you are set out in the Privacy Policy, section 6.

7. Things you must not do

These rules apply everywhere in tieHearts — in a feeling, in a private label, in a secret chat, in a name or alias, and in anything you send us.

Against other people

Against the law

Against the service

8. Reporting, moderation and enforcement

Every conversation can be reported and every person can be blocked. A blocked person cannot reach you again inside tieHearts, however many times they try.

How to report: use the report control in the app, or write to the Grievance Officer. You do not need to prove anything first.

What we do: we acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, as required by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Serious safety reports are handled faster than that. We may suspend an account while we investigate.

What can happen to an account: a warning; removal of content; loss of the ability to send invites; suspension; or permanent closure. Where the conduct is criminal we report it to the police, and we do not need your permission to do so.

We never tell the person reported who reported them.

If we close your account for breaking these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund of anything already delivered.

9. Money

Your first reveal request is free, forever. The product has to work before it costs anything.

After that, reveal requests are paid. Everything we sell is a one-time purchase:

WhatHow much
Loved₹199
Favorite₹399
Heart Ruler₹699
Secret-chat extension on its own₹49

There is no subscription and no auto-renewal. Nothing charges you again on its own. All prices are in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes.

During the current early period, everything is free. When purchases go live, we will say so in the app before anything can be bought.

What a purchase buys, stated as plainly as we can: buying a pack buys you the chance to ask. It does not buy an answer, and it can never buy somebody’s identity. If the person you asked chooses to stay hidden, that is the service working exactly as described and exactly as you were told before you paid.

We may change prices. A change never applies to something you have already bought.

10. Refunds

Purchases made through Google Play are also governed by Google Play’s own refund process, and you can request a refund there. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

We will refund you if something we sold did not work: a pack that did not arrive, a reveal request that failed to send, or a charge you did not make. Write to developertiehearts@gmail.com within 7 days and we will refund it.

We will not refund a reveal request that was delivered and simply was not answered, because the asking is the thing you bought and it was delivered. This is stated in the app before you pay.

We will always refund any purchase made on an account we later find belongs to someone under 18.

Refunds are made to the original payment method, and typically reach you within 5 to 7 working days once approved.

11. Our role

tieHearts is an intermediary as that term is used in the Information Technology Act, 2000. We transmit what users create; we do not author it and we do not pre-screen it. We are entitled to the protection that Act gives intermediaries, and we comply with the obligations attached to it — publishing these rules, providing a grievance mechanism, and acting on valid complaints and lawful orders.

That protection does not make us indifferent. We remove content and close accounts under section 8 whether or not we are legally obliged to.

12. Ending it

You, at any moment, without asking us: delete your account in the app. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is destroyed and the four narrow things that survive.

Us, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop operating the service. Except where the breach is serious or we are legally prevented, we will tell you and say why.

Ending your account does not undo a phone number already shared through a reveal or a tie. See Privacy Policy, section 5.

13. What we do not promise

tieHearts is provided as it is. Within the limits Indian law allows, we do not promise that:

You meet other people at your own risk. If you choose to meet somebody in person after a reveal or a tie, that is entirely your decision, and we ask you to take the ordinary precautions any adult would.

14. Limits on liability, and your indemnity

To the fullest extent Indian law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profit or opportunity, or for distress arising from another user’s conduct. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing here removes a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

You will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms — in particular from a breach of the warranties in section 6, or from your use of tieHearts to harass or harm somebody. If you enter a number you had no right to use, and that person brings a claim, that claim is yours to answer.

15. Complaints — the Grievance Officer

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. If you are not satisfied, you may take a data-protection complaint to the Data Protection Board of India, a consumer complaint to the appropriate consumer forum, or any other remedy the law gives you.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use tieHearts after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, delete your account — that is always available and costs nothing.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live, the courts at New Delhi have jurisdiction.

If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing something on one occasion does not mean we have given it up.
